Artist Statement

My art exists to communicate as there are things I simply cannot express in words. I mainly work in graphite due to my initial hesitance to use other mediums, but I have since branched out to watercolor, ink, and acrylic. I value emotion above all else in my concentration pieces, because they are a large part of who I am today. I don’t want my audience to experience the abridged version of my feelings. I want to bear them naked, display my unbridled rage, my bottomless depression, my hypocritical self-hatred, my identity-crushing dysphoria, and the light that lifts me away from those feelings. You don’t have to relate to my art. You don’t even have to enjoy. I just want people to understand how I feel.
